Work Is Pissing Me Off
Me and Chris, actually.
It's too much to get into here, but the main thing is that Lora still feels as though there is some kind of "conspiracy" going on between us and Nick. She's also supposedly "very uncomfortable" with the idea of the 3 of us living together, as is our district manager. What do they think we're plotting??
The WORST thing I found out, and I'm not sure if it's related, is that there is someone currently working in our store who is spying on us (not *just* the three of us, but probably moreso than the cashiers) for my manager/the DM. I almost didn't believe it, but the more I thought about this person, the more obvious it is. I can't even tell you how angry this made me. As I stood in the makeup aisle ordering, just minutes after Chris told me about this, I was serisouly trying to think of where else I could work. Now that I'm moving in a few days, I'd really prefer for it to be somewhere in the area but besides other retail places, I have no idea. It's not just that we have fricken' James McParland in out midst now, but the whole issue of my missing raise factoring in too. And there are some other reasons, but as I said, I'm not going into any great detail.
Although Chris and I were in pretty awful moods for most of the day (not to mention that Lora was there for most of the time), we decided there was only one thing that could lighten the mood- trying the cham cham! As you know, I like Indian food, and I like going to the Indian market in EG to get different items. Well, one item that they always have tons of is cham cham-- sugared cheese. It comes in these huge cans that weigh about 5 lbs each and it's one of those items that I became morbidly curious about, but didn't want to try because it costs about $7. I went there the other day and noticed that they had smaller cans for only $3.50, so I picked one up. Chris and I have joked about trying it for a long time, but today we decided to take the plunge! I peeled open the can and we were presented with lots of smallish, light yellow cheese balls floating in a thick sugary syrup. Hm. Chris wanted me to try one first, so I did. I stabbed it with a fork and nibbled off a bit. Its consistency was sponge-like, not cheese-like, and it was very, very sweet. It reminded me of another Indian dessert, balls of fried milk that are served warm. . .same texture, same sweetness, different flavor though. I was okay with just nibbling it, so Chris tried a bite-- and almost immediately spit it out, haha. I had about half of mine left, and since it wasn't bad, I just popped the whole thing in my mouth. BAD IDEA. I bit into it and it was like one of those Gushers fruit snacks, except instead of tangy gel, I got a mouthful of cold, sugary syrup. x_x I tried to chew/swallow the rest of it, but I seriously couldn't. You know how NOT picky about food, and all the weird things that I enjoy eating, but this was too much. I am sorry to say that I spit it out, and the can was quickly resealed and placed back in the refrigerator. Gonna have to say that won't be a repeat purchase, but at least we can now say we've tried it!
