Complications

Nervewracking incident concerning the house yesterday, seeing as we almost had to call it off! At least regarding the one on Prospect. . .

I got to work around 1 and as soon as I walked in the door, Chris was like "I have to talk to you and it's not good." The deal was that Tim was all worried about how much our down payment would have to be and he thought it would set him back so much that he wanted to back out. If he backed out, Amanda wouldn't be able to afford the monthly payments with only 4 of us there, and without both of them, Nick and Chris and I wouldn't be able to afford it! Gah! Luckily, after many phone calls back and forth, we were able to persuade Tim to stay (and thus Amanda), saying that we'd all pitch in a little if the initial payment was going to set him back that much.

So today Chris and I went back to the realtors to drop off our reference sheets. Nothing exciting there. The next step is calling the landlord and setting a time to sign the lease, I guess. Nick's basically in charge of that stuff, so he'll keep us informed with what's up. The only other thing we've found out is that we probably won't be moving in til the middle of June. We *could* move in sooner, but the current guys aren't leaving til the 31st of this month, so the landlords need time to do repairs to the house and whatever else. And since we *want* them to take care of those things, we'll have to wait.
